How To Get Ibiza Ready
The news we have all been waiting for has finally arrived… The green light has been given to UK travels for, among other places, the Balearic Islands. And even though we may not have the luxury of having 3 – 4 months to prepare for a summer holiday, visions of alfresco lunches on sunny dappled mediterranean beach could soon be a reality. Dressing stylishly for Ibiza and preparing your wardrobe for what may be a slightly last minute holiday may, however, prove to be a bit of a challenge. You may not have the time to commit to go shopping, and finding turning online to find four or five key pieces that fit perfectly and look good could become a long, drawn out process.
Before an onslaught of blind panic bulk buying descends, with dozens of sub-standard, ill-fitting mid-season bargains landing on your door step, take a deep breath, pour yourself a very cold Negroni (if for no other reason than to start evoking memories of early evening aperativos in the Old Town), and follow some of my top tips to have you looking ready for Ibiza.
I’ve put together some looks to cover all of your holiday, and ensure you are looking stylish for a afternoon poolside, lunch on the beach and evening dinner and drinks
THE LOOK TO TAKE YOU FROM THE BEACH TO LUNCH
It is finally here, we can start booking a summer holiday, the time where our daily uniform is swim shorts and sunglasses , rosé and rays. Us Brits may not be renowned for our sartorial savoir-faire when it comes to dressing for the beach, in other words I strongly feel we can do a lot better than a white vest and pair of flip flops. Most of the beautiful beaches in Ibiza are accompanied by a equally stunning beach restaurant, and out of respect I feel its important we make the effort to ensure we look ready to enjoy a glass of rose and the catch of the day whilst taking in the views of the med, with a chilled vibes playlist in full swing. The key to dressing well for lunch from the beach is versatility. By simply pairing a oversized white linen shirt and panama hat with your classic swim shorts ensures you look effortlessly stylish and still beach ready for lunch.
WHAT TO WEAR POOL SIDE
I think we all agree the whole point of sitting by a pool is, ultimately, to lay back read a book, listen to your music and relax. But this dosen’t mean your outfit should be a belly flop. In short, practicality dictates that you shouldn’t overdress by the pool, but the the few items of clothing and accessories you do wear need to be spot on. Here are some of my picks for getting this whole poolside thing right.
THE EVENING DRINKS AND DINNER LOOK
As our summer holidays may be slightly last minute this year, but with a few tactical purchases, we can still look effortlessly stylish when it comes to dining alfresco. And, after all, isn’t that what going on holiday is all about? getting a dress up and enjoying long cold drinks before enjoying some beautiful food with family and friends. I have put together an outfit perfect for some aperitivos and good food
